Who has the best airlock out there

Being that we remanufacture a wide variety of airlocks in all industries, we occasionally get asked what is the best airlock available.  This usually comes at a time when they are frustrated with what they currently own, and are exploring other brands.  To be honest, there is not an obvious answer to the question.  Granted, some airlocks are geared more towards specific industries and functions than others.  However, we can take any brand that we remanufacture and find clients who will swear by that airlock, and some who will swear at it.  To change an airlock to a different brand can be costly in terms of down time, and retro-fitting the flanges, for unfortunately, there is no universal bolt pattern in the airlock industry.  Usually, a spare will have to be purchased as well, adding more to inventory.  It, then, behooves one to re-evaluate and make sure that the current airlock is built appropriately for a given application.

Often, either a quick verification of the temperature and clearances or a slight modification to the airlock will go a long way to assuring a smoother and extended run time.  Sometimes it requires more than that, but this is the advantage to Rotary Airlock remanufacturing a client's airlock.  More than likely, we've observed the same issue going on in the same airlock in another plant of the same industry, allowing us to pass along solutions that have been proven to help.  Essentially, this allows us to tailor an airlock to correctly function in a specific application, and in turn, making it the best airlock available for them.
